Not exactly the high-end one I was planning on saving up for. But this should do. The unit came free with my new postpaid line subscription. Ironic isn’t it? Just a few weeks ago I was ranting about how I can never apply for a line since I didn’t have a credit card. I had resigned myself to the fact that I was always meant for prepaid.
Surprise, surprise… just a few weeks later, a representative called and told me that since I was a good payer (for my broadband + landline subscription) I get the benefit of being offered a postpaid line without the hassles of submitting a gazillion requirements to their office. They will process everything on my behalf. I just needed to present a valid ID once the courier delivered the phone to the address I provided. Since I got the cheapest plan available, I figured… why not? I don’t really spend that much on phone calls and the house is on wi-fi so I’m pretty much covered against hidden data charges.
The only downside is, I have to say goodbye to my BB. I hate maintaining two phones so it’s only fair that my sister gets my old unit. She doesn’t mind.:) Right now I still use it though because my SIM has yet to be activated. No need to freak out. It hasn’t been 48 hours since I got the unit so I’m still within the allowable turnaround time for SIM activation.
So excited to be able to use it once it’s working. My first time ever on an Android phone.
