Paul Walker, 1973 - 2013.

This was a guy I adored since the first FF movie. No doubt you'll be missed. Good luck watching Eight Below and Hours without shedding any tears. #paulwalker #crush #teenagedream #fantasy
Just like when news of Cory Monteith's death first broke on a Sunday, it was very disconcerting to read of a tweet saying Paul Walker had passed away yesterday. But sadly, it was true. Paul William Walker... my Brian O'Conner, was dead at age 40 after a fiery car crash claimed his life and that of his friend, Roger Rodas.

My heart fell.

I have been a Paul Walker fan since 2001. He isn't the drop-dead gorgeous pretty boy type but he has this certain appeal that would certainly make you notice him. It's funny because I never found him that appealing until I was dragged to watch The Fast and the Furious with some friends. If only Brian O'Conner was real, huh? Since then, he was always on top of the list of Hollywood actors that I fancy. And like a teenage girl who once dreamed of marrying the celebrity love of her life, I was that convinced we would end up together and I'll be step-mom to his daughter Meadow. LOLs!

Paul was in most of the films I loved during my teenage years --- Pleasantville, She's All That and Varsity Blues just to name a few. He was always that "other" guy who made the hero look good. But in real life, he was everyone's hero.

Heaven has earned an angel in you, my love. I feel bad knowing you will never have the chance to visit our country to promote the next F&F movie. Chance ko na sana yun to see you in person.

Good luck to me watching Eight Below and Hours without shedding any tears.

  7. I'll always remember him first and foremost because of "She's All That". It was one of my all-time favorites back in high school. (Then, of course, in "Pleasantville" and "Varsity Blues".)

The fact that the last event he attended was a fundraiser for Haiyan victims makes it even sadder. :(

  10. Awww... I was so sad also when I heard the news from my hubby. I thought it was just a hoax, until I finally saw the news myself. Until now, I'm hoping that the news isn't true. Future F&Fs will never be the same without him.

  11. I really never watched any of the Fast and the Furious movies so I have a vague idea who he is. I felt that he was so nice of a person when everyone felt his dying is a great loss to humankind. RIP, Paul Walker.
